Born in Campina, Romania, Alina started playing piano at the age of seven.
Since the autumn of 1999 she has settled in Brasov, to study piano with Professor Stela Dragulin from the Faculty of Music of Transylvania University.
Aged only 16, Alina Bercu passed the Franz Liszt Music University in Weimar, Germany, becoming thus since October 2006 Professor Grigory Gruzman’s student. She attends in parallel the courses of the National College Andrei Saguna in Brasov (2006-2009).
Since 2011 she is continuing her studies with professor Wolfgang Manz at the University of Music in Nürnberg.
She attended masterclasses with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Leslie Howard, Andras Schiff, Menahem Pressler, Michael Sanderling, Ana Chumachenco, Wen-Sinn Yang, Werner Bärtschi, Lory Walfish, Rudolf Buchbinder.
Alina gave her first concert with an orchestra at only 9, succeeding in a very short while to conquer important stages in Europe, America and Asia including: The Romanian Athenaeum and Mihail Jora Studio from the Radio Broadcast Hall in Bucharest, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Teo Otto Theater - Remscheid, Prinzregententheater Munchen, Musikhalle-Hamburg, Auditorium - Rome, Tonhalle Zürich, Carnegie Hall-New York, Theatre du Vevey.
